The Chicago Transit Authority is undertaking a $90 million dollar project to replace more than 20 miles of rotten wooden ties with TieTek™ plastic composite ties. Upon project completion, commuters will enjoy a quieter, faster, smoother and safer ride along the entire Chicago Blue Line. Train speed that is currently moving as slow as 15MPH will be increased to 65 - 70MPH.
